THE FACE BEHIND BARKS & PALS
Barks & Pals was established in January 2025, by myself, Leila. I have always been an animal lover and you will often hear me passionately speak about dogs, my true soft spot but I have also owned ferrets, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs and cats.
During my teenage years, I volunteered for more than five years at the SPA (Société protectrice des animaux) back home in France.
My first childhood dog was a German Shorthaired Pointer, and I always knew that it would be the breed I get one day. Back in 2023 is when I welcomed my second GSP into my life, and it has been an incredible journey ever since.
Owning a working breed has taught me the importance of understanding a dog’s needs and behaviour, and I am proud of the knowledge I have acquired over the years.
As both a dog owner and a lover, I promise to provide the highest level of care to every dog, and to ensure they are not only safe, but happy. For this reason, I focus exclusively on one to one interaction, avoiding large groups of dogs. However, I am happy to care for multiple dogs from the same household.
I am a Level 4 qualified behavioural dog trainer and accredited in understanding canine body language, which allows me to read dog signals accurately and respond effectively. My speciality includes working breeds, nervous, anxious, and reactive dogs.
I offer dog walking (one to one or in small, carefully managed groups of up to four compatible dogs), pop in visits, and house sitting in Sudbury and the surrounding villages, as well as training and behavioural support for puppies, reactive, nervous, and rescue dogs.

What Makes Barks & Pals Different?
GENTLE AND INDIVIDUAL
Every dog in my care is treated as an individual. I offer one to one walks or small, carefully structured groups of up to four compatible dogs.
Group walks are thoughtfully matched according to temperament, confidence level, and energy, ensuring a calm and balanced dynamic. I monitor each dog closely throughout the walk, adapting pace, interaction, and support to suit their needs. I specialise in working with nervous, anxious, and reactive dogs, providing patient, behaviour aware handling whether they are more suited to solo walks or the right small social setting.
INCLUSIVE OF ALL BREEDS
I do not discriminate based on breed or size. I proudly care for XL Bullies and other misunderstood large dogs because beneath their tough exterior, they are soft hearted companions who deserve just as much love and attention.
FULLY INSURED AND CERTIFIED
Your dog's safety is always my number one priority. I am fully insured and certified in Canine First Aid and Behaviour, so you can have peace of mind knowing your dog is in expert hands.

Behaviour change and training work is not just about the dog, I support owners to feel confident, informed, and empowered to help their dog thrive at home. You will always be guided, supported, and included in your dog’s progress.

I am a dog behaviourist with extensive experience in canine care, behaviour, and training. My work goes beyond simply walking dogs I focus on understanding behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing to ensure every dog feels safe, supported, and understood.
